A red corn lager brewed in collaboration with Tuerong farm using Nixtamalised Bloody Butcher heritage corn and Ryefield hops Saaz. Refreshing and honeyed with a dry finish and a corny twang. We loved working with these guys from Tuerong farm on this beer that is so close to our hearts using an ingredient that is literally in our blood🩸🌽 Orbost is corn country and both Jason and I (Gab) come from farming families going back generations specifically growing corn 🌽
Orbost is one of the Cotter family strongholds outside the Peninsula. While Jason from Tuerong Farm has only grown corn a few seasons, His Uncle Ted and Aunty Julie - and various other aunts, uncles and cousins - have grown seed corn on the banks of the Snowy River for decades, a little upstream from Gab’s family farm. We have previously brewed up a batch of Ted and Julie’s corn a few years ago called Dead Will Rise.
